5 Apps Every Entrepreneur Needs To Become More Productive And Efficient

By Elli Bishop

As an entrepreneur, you’re constantly looking for ways to save money, boost productivity, and enhance efficiency. Many of the solutions you’re looking for are sitting in your pocket right now (ok, technically they’re in the app store).

An infographic, based on a survey conducted by the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council, reveals every small business owner could save thousands of dollars each year and nearly 6 hours every week by leveraging mobile apps.

From the moment you wake until the time you close your laptop, here are five apps to help you maximize your professional and personal life.

1. GarminFit

Exercising effectively will improve your physical health, but it also boosts your brain-power. So when you leave on your morning run, take GarminFit with you.

This app provides all the data and information you need to quickly recognize your fitness strengths and weaknesses and make the most of your workout. Use the fitness tracker to measure distance, determine your heart rate and find out how many calories you’ve burned. Then choose a fitness goal and let Garmin create a day by day training plan to help you achieve it.

2. Doodle

Like most entrepreneurs you’re probably scheduling appointments from dawn until well after dusk. The Doodle scheduling tool can free you from this time-zapping task.

Identify a few meeting date and time options, then ask stakeholders to select what dates and times they’re available. With minimal effort you’ve pinpointed the ultimate date and time for your meeting. No lengthy email threads required!

Stop wasting time tracking down the important information you need to get you day underway, use IFTTT and the news comes right to you! The acronym stands for “If This Then That” and is a free service that lets you create powerful connections (called recipes) that can save you time.

For example, you could use IFTTT to get a text message every time a customer downloads one of your eBooks, or receive an email when an important client posts an article on LinkedIn. This fantastic sharing tool allows you to distribute content across a number of channels. With just one click, your blog can reach LinkedIn, Twitter, G+…etc… Marketers can use IFTTT with these other time-saving apps to streamline content distribution and promotion.

4. Microsoft OneNote

Whether you’re sitting at lunch or on the commuter train, OneNote will help you organize everything that matters. From web articles to handwritten notes, images to to-do lists, once you start using this productivity boosting app you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.  OneNote also works with a host of apps and devices including Feedly, IFTTT, and Zapier.

5. eWallet

At the end of a long day, the last thing you want to discover is that your personal and business information has been hacked. Use eWallet and start protecting your data with strong passwords. The innovative app not only remembers your passwords, it can also generate robust new ones for you. Save your energy for building your business; let eWallet handle the tedious task of password protection.

As an entrepreneur, you owe it to yourself to find and use the mobile apps that will make you more efficient and effective. Make your workweek better by joining the 51 percent of your colleagues who say apps have helped them gain an edge over the competition.
