In this picture you can see the tower rising from the courtyard in the middle of Lough Key Castle. This is the grass spot where we ate our picnic lunch of sandwiches and wine. After eating we were able to climb up to the wall that would be on your right (as you are looking at the picture). We were able to walk around the wall and into a lookout tower and then climb up that a little. Inside the the castle (directly in front of you) there were a few rooms, all of different size. You could see burn marks very high up where the beams that held the floors once. You could also see the trash of past parties on the ground.
